Day 1: HANOI – ARRIVAL

Welcome to Vietnam. Arriving at Noi Bai International Airport, Travelo Vietnam Tour guide and driver will greet and pick you up to the hotel at the heart of Hanoi capital. Hanoi, the antique and dynamic city of Vietnam, reserves a unique old world charm and several of the most striking colonial architecture of Asia. After the checking-in,Take relax by your own and do briefing itinerary with our guide for coming days. enjoy a cyclo ride through the bustling streets in the Old Quarter to discover the ancient and modern beauty of Hanoi. After the tour, you will be warmly welcome with a special welcoming dinner in a typical Vietnamese food restaurant. Stay overnight in Hanoi

After hearty breakfast in hotel, our shuttle bus take us to left bank of Red River Detla, In Long Bien, Arriving cycling point , we spend few minute to master how control the bike and the rude of the road.for cycling days in Vietnam.  making sure everything is going on smoothly, we start pedaling  on the trail, unsealed road, along the bank of Red River, You  have first different sight and vision about  Hanoi city , you are also impressive on stunning banana farm, bonsai gardens or guava fruits garden, Our ride continue to Bat Trang Ceramic village, place has been well known high quality ceramic produces since11 centuries. You have time to explore skillful productions or take some amazing pictures of this villages. After visiting Bat Trang Ceramic village, we keep riding to Kim Lan and Van Giang villages,  through traditional vegetable villages, botanical and kumquat  trees. Meeting friendly
people working on their farm, or school kids on the way back their home.  We have lunch en route, After Lunch , we continue to ride in Khoai Chau where you can  explore the botanical garden and skillful shaped bonsai. We keep riding to Chu  Dong Tu and Tien Dung Temple. This temple is worshiped and praised about the loyal love and hospitality between father, son, daughter in law( following the code of Confucianism). We finish cycling today, the shuttle bus take us back Hanoi city for taking shower  and relax . have dinner in local restaurant. Stay over night in  hotel.

After hearty breakfast in hotel. Our cycling guide and shuttle bus will pick you up  at 7:30 a.m in hotel. Leaving the hustle and bustle of city behind. The shuttle bus transfer us to Xuan Mai,   southwest of Hanoi.  Upon arriving in Cycling point. We learn how to control the bike and gear, the rule on the road and safety ride  in this trip. We commence to ride  on tarmac road, passing many peaceful villages, local market, temples and pagodas,  vast green rice paddies . When we arrive Wharf then you will have a wonderful boat trip on the Yen stream to Perfume mountain, with a break to visit the Trinh temple. The rowing boat journey takes more than 1 hour through the amazing landscape of mountains, water and rice fields. Upon arrival, you will take a more a 1.5 hour walk up the steps to the top of the Perfume mountain to visit the Huong Tich pagoda. After visiting the cave, acknowledged as one of the most beautiful lime stone caves – the Vietnam’s most beautiful one you will descent back to the whalf and have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, our Perfume cycling tour continue to visit Thien Tru pagoda, the biggest and the most worth seeing Pagoda in the northern Vietnam, before coming to the wharf for the boat trip to the Duc Wharf, where your bike is waiting. You will  ride on sealed road passing peaceful villages rice paddy to  Hotel . have dinner in local restaurant. Stay overnight in Hoanam hotel. Note: The Perfume Pagoda’s festival begins from the middle of the second lunar month and lasts until the end of the third lunar month (March and April), attaching a great numbers of Buddhist pilgrims. In case you prefer to visit the Pagoda in quiet atmosphere, you would avoid coming there during its festival

Get up early to obsever the daily life of local people  and enjoy pristine nature of the Red River Delta. Following to breakfast in hotel, we set off our pedal to  Ninh binh on tarmac road . we cycle through village to admire endless rice paddy and magnificent limestone mountain range. Stop in local market to chat with local people and try some typical tropical fruits. We  hold on cycling on scenic route, passing many villages, hidden charm scenery to Van Long – Wet Land Reserve. Enjoy picturesque karsk mountain and rural area. Have lunch en route. After lunch, we continue cycling on tarmac road and single track trail lead to Trang An Scenic Beauty – newly world Nature

Heritage Site.  Admire outstanding nature scenery and  stunning limestone mountains on the way to hotel. Check in and relax in swimming pool. Dinner and stay over night in legend Hotel

.spend full day to explore  fascinating scenery of Ninh Binh  -nick name “ Halong on Land” with many highlights enroute : visiting Dinh and Le temple to learn about the great contributions of two great kings who had laid initially ground for  independence and self – control goverment from China after thousand years domination. Cycling on scenic route to admire the beauty of limestone mountain mixed with rice paddy.  Spending two hour boat trip to explore the mysterious caves  in Trang An Scenic beauty complex.  Keep riding  through rice paddy and villages to Cuc Phuong National Park. Have lunch in Cuc Phuong restaurant. After lunch, we spending one hour to visit Endanger Rescured center and Turtle Conservation . take short transfer through national park to the bottom of Forest admire extraordinary scenic beauty of Park.  Cycling on scenic route back to the gate. On the way, you are rewarded by stunning nature and fresh air. Upon arriving on gate. We finish cycling day. Enjoy delicious food in local restaurant. Stayover night in guesthouse

Start cycling from national Park to admire spectacular scenery  in the morning. We head forward to Pipeapple plantation, enjoy brilliant scenery as we pass the vast of farms. Call at in local store to try fresh fruits.  we cycle on the small road and single track through village and village to Phat Diem Cathedral. On the way you are fascinating by lush green rice paddy, colourful sedge mats and meet the most hospitable people. Arriving Phat Diem , you will explore the value of architechure that was mixed between Vietnam traditional and Europe motif in 20 century.  Our cycling trip continue to Nam Dinh , the capital of Red River delta,where has been preserving many wellknown historical relics and beautiful landscapes as well. We spend time to visit and admire long standing pagoda – Keo Pagoda. Arriving in Nam Dinh city late afternoon. Have dinner and stay in Nam Dinh City. Phat Diem Cathedral – the Center of Catholicism in North Vietnam was built in 1891 with four roofs and six sets of iron wooden pillars. On both sides of the church are four smaller churches of different styles. Keo Pagoda is a home to a wealth of ancient relics which ranges from intricately engraved wooden dragons to a collection of over 100 statues. Here is also preserved many valuable antiques, such as a pair of candlesticks from the Mac Dynasty, some pottery ware and altars from the Le Dynasty, imperial boats, etc. It is surprising that all of them are kept intact as they were during the time of the Le Trung Hung Dynasty in 16th century.

Another beautiful cycling day is highlight of Thai Binh and Vinh Bao rural village. You will explore and experience the different images of city and countryside while cycling through small alleys and villages. We also spend the time to visit one of the oldest water Puppet Theatre in Vinh Bao, Communal house where pay tribute to founder of Water Puppet before riding to Hai phong city.Have dinner and stay over night in Hai phong city

One more day we will experience Hai Phong city  another side, take short transfer out of bustling city to Do Son Beach. Upon arriving on  cycling point. We set off our pedal and cycle on village road to admire lush scenery of suburban of Hai Phong city. We ride through fishing farms and rice paddy to Tien lang where we spend our lunch time. Following to lunch meal we continue riding to Thanh Mien distric and Bird park.  You have special opportunity in watching thousands stocks  in parks. Take transfer back to Hotel

Have delicious  breakfast in hotel, we  start  cycling from hotel through City to Northeast direction, cross over bridge and then cycling on pumpy road, through countryside, vegetable garden, peaceful villages to  public ferry where tributaries of Red river separate HaiPhong and Quang Ninh Province. We go to the land of Quang Ninh Province,keep going to Bieu Nghi T junction with High way 18 and tranfer to Halong Bay.Arriving in Halong Bay, you will check in Hotel.

After breakfast, you will  follow the local guide to visit the Sung Sot Cave and do kayaking  in Luon grotto, Back to cruise for checking out and having early lunch while our cruise is going  back to harbor. Arriving in Harbour, you will be transferred by small boat to Gia Luan dock. Our bike is already for you once you arrive. We start riding from Gia Luan through Cat Ba National Park back to the Town, on the way we conquer some stiff passes. However, you are rewarded by captivating scenic beauty and thrilling soaring mountain. Arrivin in Cat Ba town, you are free to explore the town or go to swim on beach.  Have dinner and stay over night in Cat Ba

After breakfast in Hotel, we starting riding  from Hotel to Cat ba National Park, on the way we conquer three passes before rolling to Cat Ba National park. Upon arriving in Park, we leave the bikes and trekking inside jungle to discover the biodiversity values of national park and climb on the peak to take overview of Cat Ba and Halong Bay also. Riding bike back Town by another hilly road. Have lunch en route, have free time in afternoon. Dinner and stay overnight in Cat Ba town.

Today is the last day of cycling in Red River Delta, you have time to explore the daily life of local fishmen and  experience interesting activities  on the way back to Hanoi.We start cycling from Hotel follow the coast and hilly road lead to Cai Vieng Commune and Viet Hai fishsauce villges. We take two public ferries before landing on Hai Phong city.Arriving in Dinh Vu international sea Port, Have  lunch in seafoods restaurant.  After lunch time, we take short transfer out of bustling city and then cycle back to Hanoi via Hai Duong Province.Ariving in  Hanoi late afternoon, do check in and have relax by yourself.Farewell dinner is arranged for your group. We depart to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum. The mausoleum is the last resting place of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s great revolutionist. It is a symbol of gratitude and respect of Vietnamese people for president Ho Chi Minh. The Ho Chi Minh Museum is the preserver of everything memorable related to Ho Chi Minh. The Museum consists of five extensive floors and was inaugurated on 2nd September, 1990, celebrating the 100th birthday occasion of the beloved President. Close by, the famous One Pillar Pagoda is worth a passing look. Built by King Ly Thai To in 1049, the structure has become an important symbol for the Ha noi. After that, we will continue to visit the Literature Temple and Quoc Tu Giam – Vietnam’s first University, constructed in 1070. Its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past. When you finish your lunch at a local restaurant, we will proceed to Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. This is the most recent yet probable the largest and undoubtedly the most interesting museums in Hanoi and Vietnam. This is worth a thorough visit, for those who are keen to learn about the multiculturality of Vietnam and for those who would appreciate some green space. Then we will stop at Sword Lake to visit Ngoc Son Temple and learn more about the lake’s legend. After visiting Sword lake,our shuttle bus take you to Richsaw cycle parking to take one hour tour to discover Hanoi old quarter and daily life of Hanoi people. Our richsaw will drop you off in front of Water Puppet Theater to enjoy water Puppet show for 45 minutes.  Our guide will meet you in front of door to pick you up and transfer to Hotel. Bikes: we use the new 4300/4500 trek mountain bikes for all most cycling trip with different size from 13.5 – 23.5 We generally use 2012 /2013 models of TREK montain in bikes because they are high quality, durable pieces of equipment. Besides,
We like the versatility and durability of the mountain bike as it has been designed to cope with different types of terrain and riding. Our trips can be on asphalt and can often be broken or potholed, and there are usually unsurfaced sections included, so mountain bikes are the most suitable. They also have the range of gears to cope with the hills.
Each bike comes with a single water bottle cage, if you prefer more you are welcome to bring your own. Bikes also have gel seat cover slips if you prefer a softer ride. If you have your own saddle that you are comfortable with seat, you are welcome to bring it and we’ll fit it. On long tours women specific seats are recommended and we have some available, but we cannot guarantee we will available for every tour.These bikes also are available for rent in case you want to go it alone or just need a bike for a day.
Bikes Repairs: basic spires and tools kid are generally carried by guide and on the support vehicle, although
we can not guarantee having spares for every conceivable problem. Caring a basic tool kids, a spare tube and a pump while riding is  recommended.

Safety: wearing a helmet is compulsory on all our biking adventures. Your tour guide are trained in first aid

Accommodation: When cycling we stay in friendly hotel, guesthouse or homestays. Some are more basic than
others! Bear in mind that some of the places we overnight in are not on the standard tourist trail.In larger cities and towns, our hotels are generally more western style and are three or four hotels or resort. Please do not expect the same standard as you would your home.
Our Guides: the tour will be led by one of English – speaking guides. All our guides have great knowledge of
history, local culture,  and religions of the area where you are cycling and introduce that experiences for you . our guides have been  trained  in this field and is fully licensed in tour guiding by Vietnam National Tourism. Our guides are also medically skilled in first Aid by SOS  and they know how to deal  with hard situations.\
Grading definition : To assist you visualize how our trip is difficult, we have graded our adventure tours into
three categories, easy, moderate, and challenging, we group many factors into consideration into this grading, including distant covered, terrain, altitude, weather conditions and vehicle support
Easy: suitable for most people in good health. These trips  generally include short days, on good paths and at low attitudes
Moderate: A reasonable level of fitness is required, as these trips can require sustained endurance levels, hill
longer days and altitude.All of our moderate trips have a support vehicle following closely, weary travellers can hitch a ride and take a rest for a while.
Challenging: these trips are physically demanding and best suite for  fit people with high endurance level. Day can be longer, often at altitude, in emoted regions and sometimes without supports vehicle nearby.. travellers may be required  to carry a backpacks
Terrain: Distances on full cycling days average around 50 – 80km. Our route is mainly on tarmac roads of varying quality with are some more like hard – packed dirt, Terrain is generally flat or undulating with a few notable climbs. Distance for second days and  half of third day is around 60- 80 km. Our routes are mainly on single track, dirt road and trail , we cycle around villages and villages, through rice paddy terraces.
Food: All the meals which, are mentioned in itinerary, are included in the price of this tour. Most of meals are Vietnamese local food in Homestays . while in towns, we will enjoy Vietnamese cuisine in delicious restaurants Meals consist of a variety of balanced dishes and aim for universal appeal, we avoid highly spiced foods. Vegetarians are certainly welcome and are always accommodated, please let us know of any dietary concerns at time of booking. Beverage  and alcoholic drink are not included  at mealtime or in restaurants
Snack & Water: when we transfer, ride by minibus ( no cycling day),  our bottled waters are always available  for you ( two little for one day for person with wet tissue) When we have cycling days, we will offer cold water and wet tissue in box plus fresh tropical fruides, soft – drink, energy – drinking, ( five little water for cycling day/ person Beer is freely available everywhere in Vietnam, but not include in our trip.
The Home stays: Homestay in the villages is simple interm of  bedding condition and enticements. We will sleep  on beds  or floor with mattress, clean sheet, pillow and mosquito nets. Toilet is usually western style.
Weather:  Vietnam has a tropical monsoon climate. Broadly speaking, the weather in Vietnam is dictated by two seasons – the southwest monsoon from April to September and the Northeast monsoon  from October to late march  or early April. Due to regional climate differences, there are no right or wrong  seasons to visit Vietnam.the north Vietnam is cool, damp in winters between November and December and February with temperature in Hanoi falling to around 15oC. The summer months from April to October  are hot and dry.the best time visit Vietnam is spring ( February – April) or Autumn( late September – December) when it is not so humid. The weather turns quite cold and wet in January and this continues to  march. The humidity can prove oppressive from May to the early September.
Money:  the official national currency is the Vietnamese Dong ( VND), but the US dollar is widely accepted in allmost tourist centers. However, small towns and the villages the VND is preferred, ATM are available in all major cities and towns, tourist destinations, Vietcombank, Agriculture banks are the best networks with  a limit a single withdraw limit of 2000,000 d ( 95 USD). Most major currencies can be exchanged in leading in Vietnam, but th USD is preferred  away from the tourist centers. Changing 100 USD  wil make you to be a millionaire. You can not legally take the dong out of Vietnam but you can reconvert reasonable amounts of it into USD on departure
Clothing:  comfortable lightweight clothing  in natural fabrics such as cotton is most suitable for travelling in Vietnam. The dress code is fairly casual as it is in most parts of the tropics but it is advisable to cover arms and legs in the evening against biting  insects. A light weight raincoat or rain cape  is a good ideal in the raining season. For on the bike you will need to bring a couple of pairs of cycling shorts and short leave jerseys, a pairs of cycling glove and if you use them, your clip in cycling shoes/ sandals.. when travel in the North Vietnam during winter months ( late November – March) warm clothe is needed.Visitors to Buddhist countries should not to wear shorts, short skirts  or other skimpy clothing when visiting religious centers and shoes should be removed  before entering private homes
Passport & Visa: All visitors  are required to have a valid  visa to enter Vietnam. A one month tourist visa is usually sufficient for most visitors, though it is possible to arrange  three months  or six month – multiple entry visa for regular visitors. The Snail Adventure Tours company  is authorized to issue visa on arrival at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi, Danang International Airport in Danang,  and Tan San Nhat in Ho chi Minh city.The same authorisation procedure  and a minimum mof 5 days working  notice is required. In emergency case they can arrange a visa o arrival if notice of 2  working days is given
Tipping: Tipping for good services is always appreciated in these developing countries. It is customary, though not compulsory, to tip tour guides and drivers at the end of the tour. Hotels and station porters should also be tipped a small amount for . We recommend 5 US Dollar  / person/per day  for cycling tour guides .. 2 USD/ person/ day for driver and 1 USD/ person/ day for door bell when checking in and out
