Hagiang – The Land of Beauty and Ethnic Tradition

Located in Vietnam’s far north, Ha Giang is the northernmost province which shares 270km long border to Yunnan province of China and bounded by Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang and Cao Bang provinces. Covering an area of 7945.8 square kilometers, mainly comprising of limestone peaks and outcrops which help to create amazingly beautiful landscapes, while its population of 705,100 people belongs to 23 ethnic groups has formed a colourful culture and tradition.

Hagiang attracts visitors with natural beauty! Geographically Ha Giang can be devided into three regions: The Dong Van Karst Plateau, The Chay River Massif and The Lowland and each region has its own magical beauty of nature:

The Dong Van Karst Plateau: Comprising 4 districts: Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac (total area of over 2.346 km2) the plateau is studded with ethereal karst formations, evidence of tectonic events that started molding the area over 400 million years ago which has created magnificent passes, impressive valleys as well as marvelous landscapes such as: Ma Pi Leng, Ma Le, Pho Cao Passes; Quan Ba, Lung Tam, Xa Phin, Lung Cam Valleys;

Day 1 : Hanoi –  Hoa Binh – Lac Village  ( L, D)

Leave at 7h30.we drive southwest to Luong Son. The gateway to the outstsanding mountainous area of northern Vietnam, upon arrival Luong son, we start riding through on undulating tarmac road with stunning view of mountain, valleys, sugarcane farms and rice paddies. We would have a stop enroute for refresment, and lunch at local restaurant.

After lunch, we take short transfer to bottom hill of Thung Khe pass, restarting to ride 34km  along the bank of Da River, you enjoy spectacular scenery dotted with Muong and Thai people villages under shaded trees, you are very impressive with  little school boys and girls or buffalor, cowboy say Hello with you on the way back to their home. We take shortbread for Kodak moment or refreshment before descent to Mai Chau village
Arriving Mai Chau at late afternoon, we cycle to Lac village for Homestay tonight
Taking shower, having dinner with traditional Thai food and enjoy Thai dance music performance

Day 2: Mai Chau – Moc Chau (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we say goode bye Mai Chau, our drive bring us out of the town, upon arrivals of Bai Sang, we start warming up by riding off road along Da river, today is hard day with long climb and potholes road , whereas we are rewarded by spectacular scenic beauty and friend people live in both side, surpringly, we ride on the formal National way No6 uesd to supplying logistic and ammunition for DienBien Phu Campaign. Stop enroute for refeshment and picnic lunch, after lunch, we keep riding to Moc Chau plateau

Moc Chau is one of the most pristine beautiful plateaus in the North mountainous region that brings the amazing attraction for all classes of people even for hard-to-pleasure tourists.
Upon arrival Hotel, we do check in and relax by your own.

Day 3: Moc Chau – Phu Yen – Nghia Lo ( B,L,D)

Following to breakfast, check the gear, start riding from Hotel to Phu Yen, we are rewarded by verdant tea, plantation and unspoited nature in morning, crossing the Van Yen Ferry  to awsome rice terraces of Phu Yen.  Stop for refreshment  and  photo moment, our trip continue through vast goldern rice paddies. We have lunch enroute. After lunch we try our fit to conquer stiff pass to another side of Yen Bai. We arrive Nghia Lo late afternoon, Nghia Lo is situated along a beautiful mountain ridge separating the Red and Black River. With lush forests, tea plantations, rice terraces and gum trees, the picturesque valleys are stunning. The area is home to Thai, Nung, H’mong, La Ha and Ma ethnic minority peoples.

Day 4: Nghia Lo – Tu Le (B,L,D)

This day starts with a visit to the local market in Nghia Lo Town, a chance to explore and shop for local is meeting point of ethnic minorities in the North Vietnam, visiting and taking pictures is great impressive experiences, then we start riding from hotel to Tu Le, today is leisure day with 45 km cycling  on undulating road, through picturesque valley, fascinating rice paddies, stop for lunch en route before riding ascent 8 km to slope to take view magnificent Tu Le town and break taking scenery,
Rolling down to Town, take relax by swimming and bathing in hot spring stream water with local people.
Have dinner and over night in guesthouse in Tu Le.

Day 5: Tu Le – Mu Cang Chai – Than Uyen ( B, L, D)

Today is fantastic day with all highlights in our trip, start cycling with incredible long climb pass (Khau Pa pass 25 km long), then  through three villages with extraordinary stunning rice terraces which are listed as National Rice Terraces Heritages of Vietnam, and undulating road along river lead to Thanh Uyen.

Start cycling from Hotel after light breakfast, we take warming up by riding escent 25 km long Khau Pha – One of fifth longest and challenging pass in the North Vietnam, along the pass , we are rewarded by the outstanding features of the landscape, fresh air in the morning, we reach on summit, coffee,tea, snack are available for you before descanting to Mu Cang Chai, Mu Cang Chai is a poor district of Yen Bai Province  with 85% population, is H’Mong people who are the  Host of National Rice Terrace Beauty. We stop for lunch in Mu Cang Chai Town, after lunch, we commence around the town, explore market, continue  riding to Than Uyen, upon arrival in Than Uyen, Check in and relax for dinner time

Day 6: Than Uyen – Sapa ( B,L D)

The most challenging today is the longest pass with 46 km , separated between Lai Chau and Lao Cai provice,on the Tram Ton Summit 2200 m compare sea level, we will be captivated by picturesque limestone Mountain  and Indochina Roof Fansipang( 3143m).before descenting to Sapa town for staying.

We start riding from Hotel through stunning scenic beauty, picturesque limestone moutain of Fansipang, Is home of H’mong, Dao, Day,Tay, Nung.. Dao Pho ethnic tribe living together for hundred years.we aslo admire the verdant rice terraces in bothsides

We reach to Binh Lu T junction stop for lunch. After lunch, we start conquering the Pass, arriving Tram Ton Summit, regroup for photo moment, before riding down to Sapa town.
Upon arrival in Sapa, we take relax by doing herbal medicinal massage
Having dinner at Grill Nature Bar restaurant, stay over night in Sunny Hotel 3 stars

Day 7: Sapa valley ( B, L, D)

Today is leisure day with cycling down to villages Lao Chai, Tavan, Supan,  Ban Ho villages, you have time to show off your skilled photograph with the lush rice terraces and loving local kids following you on the way. Arriving Ban Ho, stop for lunch at Local homestay.  After lunch ,  we ride back road on single track path lead  up to Sapa town.the rest day is free for you. You wander and explore Sapa Tourist Market, Talk with local people.
Dinner at Red Dao Restaurant and Stay overnight in Sunny Hotel 3 stars

Day 8: Sapa – Cocly – Bac Ha ( B, L, D)

Depart from hotel , we ride 48 km down hill to  Lao Cai Town  then turn off the way to Phong Hai and Coc Ly Market ( Coc Ly Market open every Tuesday) . this market is very colorful ethnic minorities. Upon arrival in Coc Ly we spend the time for exploring the way local tribes exchange their productions with each others as well as tasting their unique culinary.  Our  trip continue to Bac Ha on the single track paths, along Chay river. crossing bridge to climb  the hill before descending to Bac Ha Town. Bac Ha is one of the remote area town of Lao Cai province,  is popular destinations for most travellers who want to explore the Northwest Vietnam, Bac Ha market, open every Sunday, is highlight in our trip. Upon arrival in Bac Ha, we check in and explore by our own

Day 9: Bac Ha – Sin Man – Hoang Su Phi ( B, L D)

Start early in the morning from hotel, we ride to  Lung Phing then turn off the beaten path and single   track  to Sin Man, stop for picnic lunch en route, after lunch, we ride down hill to Coc Phai Town, then conquer the “Heaven Gate Pass2” prior to ride down hill in Hoang Su Phi Town.Today is really awsome and spectacular scenery dotted with  Flowers H’Mong, Tay,Nung, Dao Phu La..villages.
Have dinner and  stay in Hoang Su Phi ( Vinh Quang Hotel)

Day10: Hoang Su Phi – Ha Giang ( B,L,D)

Located in Vietnam’s farnorth, Ha Giang is the northernmost province which shares 270km long border to Yunnan province of China and bounded by Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang and Cao Bang provinces. Cycling on the road between Hoang Su Phi and Hagiang offer for travellers one of the most prestine  beautiful limestone mountains and marvelous rice terrace scenery, along with National Rice Terrace  Heritage in Mu Cang Chai, Rice Terrace beauty in Hoang Su Phi is listed as National Heritage of Northeast Vietnam, and take short visit tribal villages  in side road,we also conquer some big hills before going down to VietQuang then transfer to Hotel in Ha Giang.

Day 11: Ha Giang – Bac Me ( B, L, D)

Having light breakfast in Hotel, we take the time to explore city and market by your own, then we commence to cycle to Bac Me, climb 7km long pass and stop for lunch on the summit, after lunch  riding down and undulating road  lead to Bac Me. Arriving at Bac Me early, we wander around the town, exploring markets and daily life activities. Dinner and stay in Song Gam Hotel

Day 12: Bac Me – Ba Be  ( B, L, D)

Today is challenging and adventurous day  for riders,we will arrange bag for water and snack in the morning,( the van can not support us to today due to the off road conditions). We meet our van in Babe late afternoon, we cycle on single track and off road through Na Hang National park, take boat trip to explore Ba Be Lake.

Ba Be is one of biggest fresh water lake in Viet Nam and listed one of the 28th Biggest Fresh Water Lake on a slope of limestone Mountain of the World, UNESCO listed Ba Be Lake as World fresh water Reverser, cruising Ba Be is impressive experience in our trip.

Our cycling day depart from hotel, ride along the Gam river,then cross the bridge turn off to single track path to Yen Hoa, we cycle through many tribal villages, spectacular natural scenery, arrive in Da Vi village, stop for lunch. After luch time, take boat trip to Dau Dang water fall, load up our bike continue to ride on off road to Be Be Lake, take the second boat trip, exploring beautiful sightseeing, limestone mountain in lake, then cycle  through National park to hotel

Day 13: Ba Be – Thai Nguyen – Hanoi ( B, L, D)

The last cycling day in our trip offer for travellers  amazing natural scenery in the way between Ba Be and Thai Nguyen, we have opportunity in exploring the verdant tea farm, palm Leaves, gum trees and some ethnic  minorities in villages, our cycling trip will finish after lunch, take the van to Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi, check in room, and have fare well dinner in Local restaurant,
Stay in Tirant Hotel

Day 14: Hanoi – Departure

We are free until check out and transfer to Airport for departure or extended to your own tours
